Costing methods play a crucial role in determining how a company allocates and tracks its costs. While both methods aim to calculate the cost of producing goods or services, they differ in their approach to allocating fixed manufacturing overhead costs. If the units are not sold, the costs will continue to be included in the costs of producing the units until they are sold.
